Holly and Phillip put on united front as they return to This Morning together
Phillip Schofield reveals his dislike of eggwhites
Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield put on a united front to host the latest instalment of This Morning.
The pair’s alleged feud has been making headlines in recent weeks, with comedians Romesh Ranganathan and Rob Beckett even making a joke about the speculation at Sunday’s BAFTA Awards.
It comes after Phillip issued an extraordinary statement last week admitting the “last few weeks haven’t been easy” for himself and Holly.
However, they did not address the feud during Monday’s show and instead were all smiles as they opened the instalment with a piano performance.
They laughed and joked as Phillip told Holly the opening was “right up her street”.
Insiders have claimed neither Holly nor ITV knew about Phillip’s unexpected statement.
“By putting this statement out there, he has turned what was a manageable situation into a feeding frenzy,” a source told The Mirror.
“If viewers now no longer believe in the pair, and make their views clear next week, make no mistake, ITV will act.”
They also said Phillip’s position is looking “increasingly precarious”.
However, ITV later confirmed to Express.co.uk the duo would be presenting from the This Morning studio on Monday.
Phillip told The Sun last week: “As I have said before, Holly is my rock. We’re the best of friends – as always, she is an incredible support on screen, behind the scenes and on the phone.

“Holly has always been there for me, through thick and thin. And I’ve been there for her.”
Holly has not issued a statement about Phillip or her future on This Morning.
Phillip had to take time off This Morning last month for personal reasons and once he returned, Holly came down with shingles and was not on the show until she’d recovered.
The presenters have been working alongside each other on This Morning for the past 14 years.
Their relationship came under strain last year when they were accused of cutting the queue to see Queen Elizabeth II lying in state.
Holly and Phillip had to address the scandal, dubbed as “queue gate” live on This Morning in September.
This Morning continues on weekdays from 10am on ITV and ITVX.
