ITV Im A Celebritys Fred Sirieixs fiancée gives verdict on Nella Rose feud

Fred Sirieix’s fiancée Fruitcake has opened up on his fallout with his I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! co-star Nella Rose.

YouTuber Nella, 26, accused First Dates star Fred, 51, of “disrespecting her” in the jungle when he joked he was old enough to be her dad soon after she spoke to him about her father’s death in 2020. Fred profusely apologised to the influencer over the incident with friends claiming he would be heartbroken over the so-called ‘Dadgate’ row.

Now, in her first TV interview since arriving in Australia, Fred’s fiancée Fruitcake told Good Morning Britain's Richard Arnold that she 'never wants to see any form of fallout’. It comes after I’m A Celebrity producers reportedly had a 'gentle' word with Nella after she was involved in a separate dispute with campmate Nigel Farage over their differing political opinions.

Speaking on GMB, Fruitcake said: “No one wants to see any form of fallout between anybody, and for me what's important is that they've amicably resolved the situation, and then they did a trial together and got 10 stars, so hopefully they can get to do more trials in the future.

“It's great that they're back being campmates as they should be and they're having fun.”

Discussing Fred's relationships with the rest of his I’m A Celebrity co-stars, Fruitcake added: “I think that he's got on with a lot of the other jungle mates in there, and I think he's played more of a father figure with Sam, with Marvin he's had alo fun singing and dancing. He's just had relationships with all of them and had fun and that's what I love to see on the telly.”

Fruitcake also admitted she was “surprised” Fred announced they were planning to get married in Jamaica next year after their wedding plans were interrupted by the Covid pandemic.

She added: “It came as a surprise to me because it's been kept under wraps for this long but hey it's out there now, and I can't wait, it's going to be sunny Jamaica and it's going to be amazing.”

After Fred and Nella fell out over the 'Dadgate' incident, the influencer told him: “I don’t want to be around you. I only allow people to disrespect me once. You hurt my feelings.”

However, the pair put the row behind them as they teamed up for a challenge days later.

Meanwhile, earlier this week it emerged that this year’s I’m A Celebrity has been hit with nearly 2,000 Ofcom complaints so far – despite the contestants only being halfway through the show. A total of 1,717 complaints have so far been received by the TV watchdog regarding I'm A Celebrity, reported, with two incidents in particular being the focus of viewers' frustrations.

It was said that 862 of the complaints referred to Nella’s row with Fred on 21 November.

Meanwhile, 856 complaints were said to relate to a disagreement between Nella and Nigel Farage on Wednesday 22 November. During the incident, Nella confronted Nigel about his view on immigration, saying: “Let’s get everything out in the open. All the tea is coming out now… apparently you’re anti-immigrants?”

As the pair continued to disagree, Nella concluded: “My main point was that we’ve got into this jungle and I really like you and I want to know why everyone hated you.

“We don’t have to come to a common ground. You probably like a lot of things that I don’t like. And I probably like a lot of things that you don’t like…we can have these conversations.”
