Josh Gad Ready to Challenge Robert Pattinson in ‘The Batman’, Campaigning for Penguin Role Again

The ‘Beauty and the Beast’ actor taunts the ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’ star as he reacts to rumors that the Brit heartthrob is the first choice to play the Caped Crusader in Matt Reeves’ movie.

AceShowbizJosh Gad is all up for a fight against Robert Pattinson‘s Batman in Matt Reeves’ upcoming movie. The voice of Olaf in Disney’s “Frozen (2013)” is taunting the British actor amid rumors that the latter is the studio’s number one choice to take on the mantle of the Gotham superhero.

After the reports about Pattinson’s possible casting surfaced last week, Gad took to Twitter to make a case for why he would be the right adversary for the new Caped Crusader. He shared a link to an article about the Batman news and wrote along with it, “Eh. I could take him.”

Gad has been campaigning for years to play Batman’s famous nemesis the Penguin, but it’s never been confirmed if he has been cast for the role or not. While the “Beauty and the Beast (2017)” star’s involvement in “The Batman” is not clear yet, the upcoming movie is rumored to feature a bunch of comic book villains, including the Penguin and Catwoman.

“Matt Reeves is still tweaking his script, which is rumored to have at least two villains, the Penguin being one of them, according to sources (one person is telling us there will be around half-a-dozen villains!),” according to the Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision newsletter.

“We’re hearing of another purrfect character making an appearance in the script as well,” the report added. While it doesn’t specifically name the character, this “purrfect character” is believed to be Catwoman.

This prompted Robsten fans to flood the Internet with the idea of the actor’s reunion with his “Twilight Saga” co-star Kristen Stewart. They are rallying for the actress to get cast as Catwoman alongside “The Lighthouse” star.

Reeves’ Batman movie will focus on a younger Bruce Wayne than he was in previous movies. The helmer previously shared his vision for the upcoming movie, saying, “It’s more Batman in his detective mode than we’ve seen in the films.” He added, “I’d love this to be one where when we go on that journey of tracking down the criminals and trying to solve a crime, it’s going to allow his character to have an arc so that he can go through a transformation.”
