Loose Womens Coleen Nolan devastated she cant ever do Strictly

Loose Women star Coleen Nolan has shared the reason that she can't participate in Strictly Come Dancing, as the show returned on Saturday night.

The 58 year old has been on our screens for decades after she made her name as part of the Nolan sisters, and while she has danced many times on stage and screen, she has never had any dance training.

However, she has always set her sights on appearing on the BBC dancing show, but there is one thing getting in her way of doing the programme, and that is the fact she has appeared on ITV's Dancing On Ice.

In 2009, Coleen went on the skating show and managed to finish the competition in fourth place.

Speaking to The Mirror, Coleen said: "It's because I did Dancing On Ice, I've never done Strictly, which devastates me. Since that show started, I've always wanted to do Strictly, and so many Loose Women have done it, but they never ever ask me.

"But it's because apparently, I did Dancing On Ice, they don't have anyone who's done Dancing On Ice on Strictly."

However, Coleen also said that if she had known about the rule, she "might not" have taken part in Dancing On Ice.

Sadly, she has said that she has "scrubbed" taking part in Strictly off her bucket list now as she knows it is "not going to happen."

Despite that, Coleen has said that she loves the award-winning show, and she is also "addicted" to watching it when it is on.

Many of Coleen's Loose Women co-stars have taken part in Strictly in years gone by, from Ruth Langsford to Frankie Bridge, but most recently, it was Kaye Adams who took to the famous dancefloor.

Kaye, 60, was partnered with Kai Widdrington for the 2022 series, but they were eliminated first from the competition.

On Saturday, 16 September, Strictly returned with their annual launch show, which saw the new celebrities partnered up with their professional dancer for the series.

EastEnders star Bobby Brazier found out that he is going to be dancing with Dianne Buswell, while Casualty's Nigel Harman is paired up with Katya Jones.

Bad Education's Layton Williams is with Nikita Kuzmin, and TV legend Angela Rippon will be dancing with Kai Widdrington.

Former Corrie actress Ellie Leach will be working with Vito Coppola, and tennis legend Annabel Croft found out she has been paired with Johannes Radebe.

Comedian Eddie Kadi is going to be learning from Karen Hauer, with Waterloo Road star Adam Thomas being teamed with Luba Mushtuk.

Newsreader Krishnan Guru-Murthy, found out he will be Lauren Oakley's first celebrity partner, and TV presenter Angela Scanlon will be with Carlos Gu.

The BBC's Nikita Kanda and Gorka Marquez are also a pairing, while completing the cast is Corrie legend Les Dennis, who will take to the dance floor with Nancy Xu.
