Maya Jama wants to release her own make-up brand just like Kylie Jenner

QUITTING her Radio 1 job was seen as a big risk but branching out has made Maya Jama one of the hottest stars in show business.

On top of her big success on the box, Maya is now teeing herself up to become the UK’s answer to mega-rich US businesswoman Kylie Jenner.

I revealed in August last year how Maya was launching her own skincare range and, following its runaway success, she is now taking on make-up and wants to release her own line this year.

A pal said: “Maya is a shrewd businesswoman and is determined to make a name for herself in the cosmetics market.

“Her debut skincare range, MIJ, has been a runaway hit, with her face masks selling out in the first week, making her around £250,000 in seven days.

“Maya has now trademarked cosmetics under the brand name.

“Like Kylie Jenner, Maya knows her audience well and she loves all things skincare and beauty. So she’s turning that passion into a business. Maya saw the gap in the market so is planning on taking it over. She’s got lines of lip-kits, eyeshadows, foundations, primers. You name it, Maya has it covered.

“Her skincare line was in the works for months and Maya is taking her time with the cosmetics. She’ll launch it when it’s right.”

Just like Kylie — who posed on the final day of filming for her family’s long-running reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians — Maya is also juggling her growing beauty business with her TV work.

Maya quit Radio 1 in May last year, and after a successful stint on Peter Crouch’s BBC primetime show Save Our Summer, insiders say she is lining up more presenting roles this year.

Ant: Rebel rebelled

ANT Middleton says Rebel Wilson was glad to say goodbye to him after three days of back-to-back filming for the next series of his show Straight Talking.

In the episode, on Sky One at 9pm on Thursday, Ant pushes the Pitch Perfect actress to her physical and mental limits in the wilds of Mexico. The special forces hardman told The Graham Norton Show on Virgin Radio yesterday: “She was tired and miserable. She probably wanted to bury me.

“I was on her 24/7. After three days she was like, ‘Ant, get the hell out of here’.

“But now I speak to her on a weekly basis we have become really good friends.”

Daisy reveals decks secret

NORMAL People’s Daisy Edgar-jones has a back-up plan in case her screen career dries up.

The in-demand actor, who played the lead Marianne in the hit BBC drama, secretly spent much of last year learning to DJ, with a little help from her housemate.

Interviewed in the US, Daisy said: “I was filming something in the summer and I was isolating with my friend, who is an excellent house DJ.

“I was watching him do it and I was like, I want to learn how to do that.

“I have no skill-set whatsoever, but I can semi mix one song to the other, which I feel is really exciting.”

But with clubs closed for the foreseeable, she hasn’t had anywhere to show off her new talent.

She added: “At the minute I have only actually been able to do sets to my parents, but they have semi-appreciated it.

“I just need a DJ name. That is the thing I’m lacking. My actual initials are Daisy Jessica Edgar-Jones, so my initials are DJEJ.

“If it all goes wrong I can pursue that and see where it takes me.”

It’s worth a shot.

Sun doesn't set on Biebs

JUSTIN and Hailey Bieber are clearly still in the honeymoon phase after more than two years of marriage.

The Canadian pop star has posted endless loved-up snaps with his wife over the past week, including one yesterday showing them posing in front of a sunset next to a private plane before jetting off.

Justin captioned the photograph: “Life with u is so much better.”

And they said it wouldn’t last . . .

KATIE Price’s relentless attempts to make it in music may be over – if boyfriend Carl Woods has his say.

She took to Instagram on Saturday to belt out tunes after watching The Masked Singer.

Katie, who in 2006 released a cover of A Whole New World with then husband Peter Andre, also said on Instagram about car dealer Carl: “So we’re watching The Masked Singer and he reckons I can’t sing.” He replied: “You’re an absolute s**t singer. You gotta admire her for trying. She believes she can sing.”

Katie’s warbling is the last thing we need now.

Anais in Oasis blooper

NOEL Gallagher’s daughter Anais has admitted she accidentally bad-mouthed an Oasis tribute band after they performed at a party thrown by her singer pal Yungblud.

Model Anais told The Yungblud Podcast: “We were standing outside and they’d taken off their Oasis uniform and they were there in the break.

“They said, ‘What do you think about the band?’ And I said, ‘They’re not very good, are they?’. And the guy was like, ‘Oh, cheers’. I was too drunk to realise it was him.”

Yungblud said of his Christmas party, in 2019: “There was an Oasis tribute band on called Mad Ferritt and I remember the fake Noel Gallagher’s face when Anais walks in – and obviously she’s got the eyebrows. His face just dropped.”

I doubt her dad would have been quite as polite.
