PETER Andre is battling coronavirus, The Sun can reveal.
The pop star, 47, is sick and has been struggling as he fights off the virus at home.
“Peter started feeling unwell a few days ago, but he didn’t suspect that he had Covid, despite feeling extremely tired and unwell,” a source exclusively tells The Sun.
"But he decided to go for a test to make sure as he started feeling very weak, which is unusual for him and he struggles to breathe sometimes."
The source says Pete has no idea how he caught the virus as “he’s barely been out and has spent most of his time at home with his family”.
“Because Emily is working and the UK is in lockdown, Pete has no option but to look after his four children as normal and isolate away from Emily at home," the source added.
“There’s no-one else to look after the children and he doesn’t want to put anyone else at risk of catching it.
“The whole family are in quarantine now."
Pete’s management confirmed: “Yes he has got Covid and he’s recovering at home.
"He is coping well."
Today marks Peter and Emily's daughter Amelia's 7th birthday and the dad-of-four vowed to make her day as special as possible.
"It's going be a quiet one but still as special as ever even if it’s distanced," he told fans on Instagram.
The singer’s wife, Emily, works on the NHS frontline as a doctor and previously revealed she’d tested positive for Covid-19 back in July.
She was forced to isolate away from her family at their home in Surrey for ten days – and spoke of her heartbreak at being banned from hugging her children.
Emily, 30, said: “'I was only able to wave at them from the top of the stairs. Myself and Pete also slept in separate bedrooms just to be on the safe side.
“It was horrible but the family adapted to it really well and I got a big hug at the end. I had a sore throat and lost my sense of smell and taste for a week.”
Emily married Pete in 2015 and they have two children together; Amelia, seven and four-year-old Theo.
Peter's older children from his previous marriage to Katie Price, Princess, 13, and Junior, 15, also live with them.
Pete spoke to The Sun about how worried he’d been about his wife, saying: “It was a really scary time. Emily became ill when the cases were soaring, nobody knew the symptoms, not all doctors were wearing masks and Emily was very exposed to it.”
Emily’s step-son Junior has had to isolate twice after coming into close contact with coronavirus sufferers – once back in summer and most recently in November.
"Junior is having to self-isolate at the moment because a couple of people in his school year tested positive for coronavirus,” Pete said before Christmas.
"When I told him he had to self-isolate he was excited because it meant staying at home – but when he realised he had to do all his lessons on Zoom from 8.15am, he wasn't too happy!
"It's quite full-on for kids when they have to do the same amount of work at home, as it's not easy to stay motivated, so I give him credit for that.
"The main thing is he doesn't have any symptoms and feels fine at the moment."
Pete’s coronavirus battle comes as the UK recorded a grim milestone yesterday – as coronavirus deaths topped 1,000 for the first time since April and cases jumped by 62,322 in the highest daily rise ever for the second day running.
Data from the government's coronavirus dashboard states that
as of January 4, there are 30,451 patients in hospital with Covid-19.
It also says that at present, there are 2,645 patients on ventilation.
