On a classic repeat episode of the Channel 4 property show, Danni took Neil and Julie around a host of homes within their modest £63,000 budget. But she soon learned the couple did not see eye-to-eye with much. So did they ever manage to put their differences aside and come to an agreement on a property?
Neil and June had divided opinions on the first property they viewed with presenter Danni, however, Julie thought the second home they explored was “close to perfect”.
Danni said: “So they wanted better outside space and more usable bathrooms, I wasn’t sure Neil was feeling it, but now they have seen that view, I think he’s coming around.”
Julie told Danni the two-bedroom townhouse was going to be a hard one to beat as it was “almost perfect”.
However, Danni said she wanted to “improve on perfection” and took her guests on a tour of her third property.
The couple had a clash of opinions with the third property, with June highly approving of the house and Neil preferring the second property.
“I feel like this might be a good time for me to say you both look at the rest and I’ll catch up with you in a bit,” Danni added.
“I thought Neil and Julie were going to be on the same page, but Julie is getting a different feel for this. I can’t wait to find out what happens next.”
Julie loved the view, but Neil admitted the property was “ just not doing it” for him, joking that it had an “oh factor” rather than a “wow-factor”.
So Danni decided to take a risk and drive the couple to a picturesque village with was not on their radar.
Yet again, the couple had a difference in opinion as Julie liked it, but Neil thought it needed “a good lick of paint.”
However, they both agreed on the stunning view and said they could sit on the terrace all day long.
“It’s glorious and it has beaten the second property, it’s got the sea and the mountains,” said Neil.
Julie then burst into tears as she also loved the property, and Neil was worried her crying might “set him off too”.
Julie explained that when Neil was involved in a tragic accident that left his back broken in places, their life was a case of simply “ploughing on”.
“[But] now it’s a case of what do we want to do instead of what have we got to do?” Julie explained.
They decided to go ahead and view the fifth and final house Danni selected, but Neil thought the front door looked too much like a prison door, and he wasn’t impressed with the layout inside either.
“I can’t see how we can live in this with the size of the kitchen,” Neil said.
The couple and Danni decided to cut the final visit short and while Neil and Julie had divided opinions over each house they toured, they eventually came to an agreement.
Neil told Danni their favourite property was the one that made Julie cry tears of joy due to its breathtaking views.
Later on, Danni wanted to find out if the couple had secured the property, but due to a family bereavement, the pair had no choice but to halt their moving plans.
A Place In The Sun airs on Channel 4 on weekdays at 4pm.
