Power season 6 UK start date, cast, episodes and how to watch the new series

POWER has been a hit with fans around the world ever since it launched back in 2014.

Showcasing the complex world of criminals, police officers and all those caught inbetween, the series is returning for a sixth season. Here's what to expect…

When does Power season 6 start in the UK?

Every season of Power has started in June or July, so it's safe to guess that the sixth season will have the same release slot.

The show airs on Starz in the US before becoming available to watch on Netflix in the UK.

During season five, new episodes aired on Sunday in the States and were made available for Netflix fans on Monday.

So it is thought that the same will happen for this new season as well.

What happened in Power season 5?

Season five of Power ended with the shooting of Angela Valdes right after Ghost (aka James St. Patrick) had confessed that he still loved her.

The police officer had been shot in the chest by Ghost's best friend Tommy Egan but fans still don't know whether the bullet shot was fatal or not.

Of course, Tommy had meant for the bullet to hit Ghost because he was furious at his best friend.

Cooper Saxe (Shane Johnson) had told Tommy that he had been manipulated by Ghost  into killing Tommy's father, Tony Teresi.

Tommy also believed that Ghost was to blame for the murder of Mike Sandoval so he was not a happy bunny at all.

50 Cent's character Kanan had previously been killed in Season 5, Episode 8.

Who is in the cast of Power?

Actress Lela Loren is technically the only confirmed cast member, as she reprises her role as Angela Valdes.

When asked whether the character would survive by TV Line, showrunner Courtney Kemp said: “I can say Lela is in season six, but I can’t say what she’s doing.”

Naturally, actor Omari Hardwick will return as the show's main character Ghost.

While Jospeh Sikora is also set to reprise his role as Tommy Egan.

Naturi Naughton (Tasha), Michael Rainey Jr. (Tariq), Jerry Ferrara (Joe Protor) and Sung Kang (John Mak) are expected to return to their roles as well.
