Promising Young Woman was first seen on the world’s stage at the Sundance Film Festival on January 25, 2020. Since then, the COVID-19 pandemic has meant many fans have been unable to see the film, given cinemas have been closed for the best part of a year. Given Carey Mulligan is Oscar-nominated for her role, many fans will be keen to catch up before the ceremony.
Can I watch Promising Young Woman online?
At the moment, Promising Young Woman is not available to watch in the UK.
Online streaming service Amazon Prime is offering the option to preorder the movie from £13.99.
On April 16, however, the film will be released in the UK as a Sky Original on Sky Cinema, meaning those who have NOW TV and Sky Cinema will be able to watch the film as part of their subscription.

Other than those officially linked to the film, any website claiming to have the film for streaming or download is illegal.
The Digital Economy Act 2017 means people could now face ten-year prison sentences for illegally streaming copyrighted content.
To be sure you’re not watching copyrighted material, you should go directly to companies such as Netflix or Amazon Prime, according to FACT (Federation Against Copyright Theft).
Adding a further warning, CEO of FACT, Kieron Sharp said: “There are now more ways than ever for consumers to watch movies and TV but not going to legitimate sources to watch new movies is not a grey area: it is against the law.
“As well as being illegal, evidence shows that streaming pirated content is incredibly risky and can expose users to malware and inappropriate content.
“Not only does that deny the best viewing experience, it’s just not worth taking the chance.”
What is Promising Young Woman about?
Carey Mulligan stars as Cassie, a medical school drop out who goes on a mission of revenge on behalf of her friends.
Cassie left medical school after her friend, Nina, was raped by her classmate Al (Chris Lowell) and now she spends her time trapping other men who she fears could do something similar.
To do this, Cassie pretends to get drunk in clubs and on nights out, and allows men to take her home before revealing her sobriety, and teaching them a lesson.
However, on making a big discovery relating to Ali’s rape, she begins to exact revenge on those who failed to help her.
Who is in the cast of Promising Young Woman?
Carey Mulligan plays the leading role of Cassie, while Bo Burnham plays Cassie’s love interest Ryan.
Connie Britton plays the college dean, Elizabeth Walker, while Laverne Cox is Gail.
There are a number of famous actors who have supporting roles, including Adam Brody, Max Greenfield, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Alfred Molina, Molly Shannon, Jennifer Coolidge and Alison Brie.
Promising Young Woman has been written and directed by Emerald Fennell, a British filmmaker who has been nominated for two Oscars for her work on the film.
The movie has also been nominated for three other Oscars: Best Actress for Carey Mulligan, Best Editing and Best Picture.
Promising Young Woman is available on Sky Cinema from April 16
