NBC’s thrilling series may have returned to production for an upcoming instalment after a huge clue from Amir Arison, who played Detective Aram Mojtabai. The Blacklist actor sent fans into a meltdown after sharing the filming update on Instagram.

Although the Blacklist season nine returns to screens today after its mid-season break, it looks as though production for its tenth season has begun.

Aram star took to his Instagram account and shared a selfie of himself in a suit captioned: “Back to work @nbcblacklist 2022 #TheBlacklist.”

With no prior confirmations from the show about an upcoming season, this selfie sparked a fan frenzy in his comments.

While many complimented the actor, others shared their excitement and attempted to predict when it would premiere.

Lewinsian commented: “Can’t wait! Looking forward to seeing it here in the UK.”

Lol0401lol added: “I’m in love, waiting for season 9

“Can’t wait to see you again Aram,” wrote Iam_Aexiz

While imadjabi shared: “Welcome back Amir, always lovely seeing your smile!”

Even The Blacklist’s own Instagram account commented: “Welcome Back,” which may have confirmed that season ten is in production.

Viewers are currently six episodes into the series and if this season is anything like its last, there will be many more episodes before its finale.

Since The Blacklist first aired in 2013, season seven was the shortest instalment with 17 episodes.

Whereas the longest with 23 episodes was season four while all the others had 22 episodes, proving fans still have a way to go before the arrival of season 10.

Although it has always been questioned, this season’s biggest mystery has revolved around Raymond Reddington (James Spader) and his real identity.

It became the show’s focus during the season eight finale after Liz Keen (Megan Boone) was fatally shot before she opened a letter which revealed his real identity.

Viewers fumed as it meant the mystery continued, however, things could be getting closer this season.

When the current instalment premiered in October, it returned with a two-year time jump and it had been slowly exploring what each character had been doing in that time.

There have been a ton of theories about Red being Katarina Rostova (Lotte Verbeek), Liz’s mother and a flashback episode of what he was doing during the two years after Liz death may confirm it.

In the wake of Liz’s murder, the task force disbanded and viewers got an insight into what Aram was up to.

While Red’s whereabouts were unknown, Aram and his partner were trying to get a tech startup going.

However, after Harold Cooper (Harry Lennix) wanted to reunite the team he decided to give up the business and return as an FBI special agent.

The Blacklist season 9 returns to NBC on Thursday, January 6.
