Man charged with murder after dad 'shot dead and his body doused in acid' | The Sun
A MAN has been charged with murder after a dad was shot dead and doused in acid.
Liam Smith, 38, was found dead on the street in Wigan after suffering a fatal gunshot wound.
Police have now charged Michael Hillier, 38, with murder.
He has been remanded in custody before appearing at Tameside Magistrates'Court today.
A murder probe was launched after Liam's body was discovered on November 24.
Officers had raced to the scene close to a school in Wigan, Greater Manchester.

Kilburn Avenue, Shevington, was sealed off and an urgent medical warning issued.
Greater Manchester Police later revealed Liam was the victim of an acid attack and was fatally shot.
His family said in a statement: "Liam was kind hearted, funny, the life and soul of the party.
"He was the most devoted dad, much loved son, brother, grandson and uncle.
