GOP Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas predicted in a recent interview that the US would easily win a war against Iran in “two strikes.”
Cotton’s comments came during an interview with PBS as tensions between the Islamic regime and the US were escalating, with team Trump sending an aircraft carrier, B-52 bombers and other military assets to the Middle East.
The administration is also hatching a plan to send more than 100,000 troops to the region, according to multiple reports, though Trump denied it Tuesday.

“Yes, two strikes,” Cotton said. “The first strike and the last strike.”
The senator said he was not calling for war, just saying that the US would easily win.
