Who is Lavona Solomon?
Lavona Solomon kidnapped three day old Zephany Nurse on April, 30, 1997, and raised her as her own child.
Zephany was taken from her cot in the maternity ward at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town, South Africa, by Solomon, on April 30, 1997.
She renamed her "daughter" Miché.
Nurse believed Solomon and her husband Michael were her actual parents, until a DNA test in 2016 proved otherwise.

Where is Lavona Solomon now?
Lavona Solomon was jailed for 10 years in 2016 for the 1997 kidnapping.
In 2022, Lavona finally admitted to Zephany that she had in fact kidnapped her from the hospital.
She will have to wait until July 2023 before being considered for parole, according to the Correctional Supervision and Parole Board.
Despite being the victim of Solomon's kidnapping, Zephany said that she loves both of her mothers and fathers, and asked both her biological father, Morné Nurse and Michael Solomon, to walk her down the isle on her wedding day.

How did Lavona Solomon get caught?
In February 2015, Zephany found out her pal at school Cassidy, was actually her biological sister after the pair snapped a selfie and realised they looked identical.
Her real identity only came to light when students at the Zwaanswyk High School spotted similarities between her and Cassidy.
Cassidy showed the photo to her parents Celeste and Morné who immediately thought Zephany could be their long-lost child.
The couple informed police who found there was no entry for Miché Solomon on the birth register for that date and no record of her birth at any local hospitals.
The 17-year-old was called into the headmaster’s office where social workers told her she might be the Nurses’ missing baby and that her “mum” Lavona was actually her kidnapper.
DNA tests revealed that indeed the two girls were sisters.
